Etymology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The term suffrage<\/em> derives from the Latin word, suffragium<\/em>, meaning the privilege to vote. In the United States, it is commonly associated with both the 15th Amendment2<\/a><\/sup> and the 19th Amendment3<\/a><\/sup> of the Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
